Banjo Mandolin Mandola Guitar Lessons Skye

Covid 19 Update: Lessons available via Skype, Facetime or Zoom. Please contact us for more information.

Andrew and Jules from Paddy’s Whiskers are relocated to the Isle of Skye in Spring 2019. For information on fiddle, banjo, mandolin and guitar lessons on Skye please visit our new website fiddleandbanjolessons.co.uk.

Andrew provides octave mandola, guitar, tenor banjo, 5 string bluegrass banjo and mandolin lessons designed to suit your abilities and interests. Teaching is ‘by ear’ and/or from sheet music or tablature and music reading skills can also be taught at the same time. He supports learning by providing recordings of tunes being learned on CD and sheet music or tablature to take home when appropriate.

A frequently updated Youtube Channel has videos with close ups, slow playing, tips, techniques and demonstrations of many of the tunes taught to supplement the lessons – and to help you remember lesson content when you get home!

Having learned to play later in life, Andrew understands both how much fun playing an instrument can be, and how challenging – so he will make it as easy as he can for you. He’ll even make you a cup of fresh ground coffee, tea or herb tea to help you relax at the start of the lesson.

Lessons are usually an hour long and they take place near Edinbane, North Skye. Charges are £30 per lesson. For the very young, he offers shorter lessons at a reduced rate or can travel to your home. Charges include all extra materials (recordings and sheet music).
All you need is your own instrument and enthusiasm!
