Check out this brilliant article…and book Paddy’s Whiskers for your wedding ceilidh or barn dance…we think we are the best in the west…..
In December Paddy’s Whiskers played a wedding ceilidh for Grace and Ben in Sidmouth, Devon. They’d both been at a wedding we’d played a couple of years earlier and were kind enough to book us to play for their big day too.
Early in January they dropped us an email with some lovely feedback:
“Now that Christmas is out of the way, wedding gifts are unwrapped and we are settling in to married life I have finally got round to contacting all of those that helped us make our day so wonderful.
We wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed having you at our wedding. The Ceilidh was just the best fun, I managed to take a little moment and watch all of our guests get stuck in and have THE biggest smiles on their faces. Our personal highlight of all of the dances was the last one “heel toe heel toe and sliiiide” will stay with us forever.
Thank you so much!
Feel free to add this as a testimonial on your website. We hope we see you at another friends wedding, we will of course say hi!
All the best for 2018!
Grace & Ben”
Thank you so much for choosing Paddy’s Whiskers to play for you….we had a really great night….
Andrew, Jules and Blake (from Paddy’s Whiskers) together with long term friend and musical collaborator Sorrel, were lucky enough to be invited to play a ceilidh for an amazing group of people in the mountains of Southern Spain on Boxing Day 2017….we had a great team of callers for the day – thanks to Bates, Lesley, and Huw…..We’ll be back in the region soon so if you would like to book a ceilidh, barn dance or kicking band playing upbeat contemporary Irish, Celtic and American folk music – for your wedding, party, bar or festival – give us a ring on 0044 (0)7514064558 or email firstname.lastname@example.org

A couple of weeks ago we played for James and Katherine, at The Barn in South Milton, Devon. It was a beautiful evening – above is a photo from their stunning first dance. James left us some lovely feedback on Facebook:
“Thank you so much guys. We had such an amazing night and all our friends and family had so much fun dancing to your music. Can we do it all again please ??”
In July we played at Wonwood Barton, just outside Lamerton for Gaby and Chris, their friends and family. Fantastic vibe in an amazing setting……thank you everybody…Gaby sent us some lovely feedback:
“Thanks for a great evening! Everyone had so much fun. Thank you again for such a great set at our wedding reception – the vibe was so chilled and everyone enjoyed the dancing so much!”
Check out some great photos of the band and the evening ceilidh amongst the pictures of Gaby and Chris’ day here, from Joshua Gooding Photography.
Lovely feedback from a recent wedding gig we played for Emily and Jason:

The evening was brilliant and we loved the music.”
Thank you both for asking us to be part of your wedding celebration.
Some lovely feedback from a wedding ceilidh barn dance we played recently at the amazing Higher Eggbeer, Devon for Jess and Tony..
“Just a quick note before we disappear on honeymoon to thank you for a fabulous performance on Saturday. The enthusiasm and talent you injected into the whole night made it all the more special for us and had everyone up and dancing….. thank you. It was a pleasure to meet you….”
Thanks again Jess and Tony – we had a fantastic night and you have a great crowd of family and friends.
So…our New Year’s Eve Hootenanny gig at The Boathouse, Paignton sold out months in advance. We had a great crowd of friends and fans old and new, to celebrate the start of 2017…and we are booked for NYE 2018…it’s not too early to reserve tickets!
We’ve had a scattering of ceilidhs and barn dances over the winter months, including a lovely gig for Kerry and James at Muddifords Court, Cullompton.
And then last Friday we had the madness that is St.Patrick’s Day. In the morning we played live on BBC Radio Devon. You can see a video here
4.8 thousand hits and rising…..
We’d have dressed up if we knew he was gonna bring a camera! That’s our boy Blake on whistle.
In the evening..our fifth year celebrating at The Snooty Fox…playing all our favourite Irish jigs and reels, songs and tunes. What a night. The venue was rammed! The crowd rocked!
And so now the season really starts. Paddy’s Whiskers are fully booked until the autumn – playing gigs, ceilidhs, barn dances, festivals, weddings and parties across Devon, Cornwall and the South West. We are next at The Boathouse, Paignton on April 23rd…a family friendly afternoon gig….Check out our “Gigs” page for a full listing.
We are particularly looking forward to returning to OffGrid Festival in Exeter on August 10th…we’ll be launching the party with a massive ceilidh, and then running fiddle and whistle workshops throughout the weekend. Check out this year’s promo video for the event featuring the tune “The Lark In The Morning” by Paddy’s Whiskers:
We had a fantastic time playing music and running fiddle and whistle workshops at Off Grid Festival 2016 and at DadFest. We’ll be back at both in 2017. Meanwhile we are delighted that Off Grid chose to use Paddy’s Whiskers music (and some footage from our festival ceilidh) in their new promo film:
