Why a Ceilidh* or Barn Dance? Light hearted, entertaining and fun
*A ceilidh / ceili is the Celtic version of the English or American Barn Dance. At a Paddy’s Whiskers’ dance you get a mixture of Irish, Scottish, English and American dances.
Brilliant ice breaker as all your guests dance together A real talking point
Great for all generations from children to grandparents Awesome photo opportunities
No experience needed - all dances explained on the night
Paddy’s Whiskers’ ceilidhs (or barn dances!) are straightforward, upbeat and fun.
They’re a great choice for weddings or parties because they bring all your guests together.
A light hearted and good-humoured ice breaker – by the end of the night everybody will have danced with everybody else.
Perfect for all ages and abilities - we are equally used to playing for folks with plenty of dancing experience and for those with none at all. Paddy’s Whiskers will make your special occasion a night to remember.
You’ll ‘Strip The Willow’, meet all your guests in ‘The Heel Toe Polka’, swing your partners in ‘Squares and Stars’ and we even have a special dance called ‘The Whiskers Wedding Arch’ which many wedding couples choose as their first dance.
We alternate these dances with well known songs and tunes to give your guests a chance to catch their breath.
Paddy’s Whiskers are professional musicians, playing traditional music in a modern foot-stomping party style! We play full-power Irish jigs and reels, banjo and fiddle driven American square dance tunes and bring you a taste of Scotland with the haunting and powerful border bagpipes.
Our dance caller has an excellent sense of humour and is brilliant at getting people up to dance! All dances are taught on the night, creating a vibrant party atmosphere you’ll never forget.
